Lobo Fitness, Root Bar, Kane Area Chamber of Commerce, Kane Rotary, and UPMC are proud to partner in support of Minutes Matter, a UPMC community initiative. Minutes Matter aims to provide the Kane community with lifesaving information and education on cardiac events, overdoses, uncontrolled bleeding, and mental health.
Minutes Matter officially launched in Kane during a free, educational event for local businesses hosted by the Kane Area Chamber of Commerce.
"Kane and the surrounding area that we serve is rooted in a strong sense of community, where the willingness to help a neighbor in need is ever present. When an emergency happens in our community, it can occur anywhere, the gym, the bank, the grocery store, or the sidewalk on your street. The crucial first minutes before the arrival of EMS can be the difference between life and death for your family member, friend, or neighbor. UPMC Kane is proud to partner with these community organizations to increase awareness and provide education on how every member of our community can make a difference in those first crucial minutes…because Minutes really do Matter."

Minutes Matter in the Kane Community
Would you know how to support someone experiencing a mental health crisis? Have you ever given chest compressions or applied a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding? UPMC experts will be onsite at community events and activities throughout the Kane community to help bring visibility to these life-saving interventions, talk more about how important training is, and give people opportunities to see how they can help save a life.
